THROWBACK THURSDAY: Drake ft. Lil Wayne & Jay-Z - Light Up (Rikers Remix)

Talk about a hell of a throwback. This song makes me nostalgic in a way. It takes me back to the days when Guru and I were just discovering our potential to sniff out the hottest new tracks, back to the days when Young Money was relevant and Drake was just blowing up for real, back to the days when LIL WAYNE WASN"T TUNECHI AKA WAS THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE... but I digress. Those were the days, but now they're over. This song marks the end of an era. Drake is now his own entity, Tunechi is putting out consistent trash with a few brief flashes of his immortal talent, and Guru and I are (semi) functioning adults. In terms of the actual track, I would like to say a few words. Drake is on point as usual, Jay-Z spits some real ish, and Wayne delivers one of his hottest verses over the phone from Rikers Island. This is, as far as I'm aware, a unique moment in music history. And it's straight fire. Check out this historical piece, and DL it below.

Rihanna - Stay (Branchez Bootleg)

Believe it or not, I found this through Vine. I saw a slow mo 6 seconds of some guy dunking hard as hell on some poor, unfortunate soul. And here we are. Even without the image of that kid getting wrecked, this song is still bad ass. I will unabashedly say that it is better than the original, because it is. Rihanna's voice turned into a higher falsetto put over a slow piano melody is just straight fire. Download this now. Do it below. Enjoy

The Melker Project - Get Out The Way & 1 Year Anniversary of Prevolutionary

HELL YEAH FUCKIN RIGHT! What started out as a pet project is still a pet project, but it's a year later! Today is the one year anniversary of Prevolutionary. I'm pleased that I still put some semblance of effort into this site, even if the Guru doesn't spend much time here. Oh well, we can address that later.

Here we have another one of Scott Melker's fantastic mashups. Crazily enough, he incorporates classic rap, some metal, and some house tunes into this one, and it sounds simply FLAWLESS. This one is good for any workout mix. Check it out and DL below.

Kid Ink - Messin Up My High

An oldie but a goodie. This here is for all of you having a rough day, I sure know it helps me endure the tough times. Kid Ink from waaaaay back, reminding you to chill. Listen and DL below.

Logic ft. Big Sean - Alright

Taking it down to a chill note. If I smoked, this would be the joint, no pun intended. Logic can, somehow, always manage to inspire me regardless of the tone of the track. This track is laid back, almost to the point of being sad and solitary, but every time I hear it, I just want to run through a wall to disprove everyone who said I couldn't do what I wanna do. This is a must DL for those of you who need a pick me up this fine hump day. Listen and do it below.

Drake - 0 To 100 (Grandtheft Bootleg)

Since I missed the daily post yesterday, I'll do two today, maybe a third if you're all good and stay quiet.... okay so I'll probably do a third anyway, but this isn't about that. This is about Grandtheft's Bootleg remix to Drake's recent hit, 0 To 100. If I had control of a radio station, plays for this remix would go from 0 to 100... real quick. See, normally I'm not a fan of DJs remixing Drake's stuff. Drake is insanely talented, and as far as I'm concerned, his stuff is too high quality to be remixed. However, there are always exceptions, and this is definitely one. Grandtheft hardly changed the song, just threw in a few extra synths, enhanced the noticeable parts of the beat, and changed a few tones. Why fix it if it ain't broke, am I right? Anyway, check it out and DL it below.

DJ D Slaught - P.F.M.I.L.Y. (feat. Ya Fav DJ) [prod. by DJ D Slaught]

Alright, this one definitely won't be on the radio anytime soon, but I'll be damned if there isn't a fair amount of talent between these two guys. The Prevolutionary is how I'm known to you, but by day when the mask comes off, my alter ego knows the guys behind this. It's only fitting that an amateur rapper/producer and his amateur rapper friend get a shout out on my amateur site. This song is pretty good, and even if you aren't into the sound, it's absolutely worth some laughs. Check out the track and DL link below.

Logic - Under Pressure

Ohhhhhh, yeah *Bradley Cooper as Rocket voice*. This one is gold folks. Pure, unadulterated gold. Logic is huge on the underground scene as most of you know, and it's truly surprising at this point that a majority of his good songs haven't made it to the radio. This song perfectly showcases his incredible flow. The quality of the track is low, unfortunately I couldn't find a better, more HQ version, but when I do I'll replace the link. Check it out, and download it below.

A$AP Rocky ft. Juicy J - Multiply

Continuing with the chill shit, this: Lord Flacko has always been one of my favorites, and Guru can agree. This beat has a... mobbin' feel to it, I don't know how to explain it better than that. And A$AP Rocky's smooth flows and solid lyrics give it an edge. Again, definitely not a club banger, but this is one of those tracks to sit in your iPod and rack up thousands of plays over time. Track and DL link below, dig it.

Dotcom - Drunk Girls feat. Yultron (Original Mix)

Well I'm back. Gonna try to bring you guys music every other day or so.

This one is good. Dotcom, as a rule, is hit or miss, but when he hits, he HITS. This isn't a club banger. This isn't a mega hit. Shit, this isn't even top 40 material. But you know what it is? That one song you can play at every pregame, at every party, and blast whenever you're chillin... because we all know that drunk girls know how to have fun. Smooth bass, smooth lyrics by Yultron. Def worth a download. The link is below. Dig it.

Steve Aoki, Chris Lake, Tujamo - Delirious (Boneless) feat. Kid Ink

Holy hell, it's been a long time. I apologize, I'm sorry, lo siento. But between downing brewskis, tipping strippers, and driving golf balls off the deck of my yacht, I don't have a lot of time for the little guys anymore. That's you. Just kidding, I've been really caught up in trying to get my life caught up. Anyways, I'm back. Enjoy.

So, without further ado... holy hell. I'm assuming if you don't live under a rock you'll have heard the original version of Boneless with Juicy J by now. Even if you do live under a rock, your friends/neighbors probably played it so loud you heard it anyway. I'm not sure which I like better. Everyone knows Juicy J is the ragemaster, but I kinda like Kid Ink's rapping style, and I really like how he sings over the chorus. This is a very interesting remix, to say nothing of how easy it is on the ears. And I give it to you, free of charge. Track and DL link below.

Machine Gun Kelly - Sail

I won't say that this is reminiscent of Eminem, because MGK's voice is a lot deeper than Em's..... but damn it if this isn't reminiscent of Eminem. He speeds up and slows down his flow seemingly without effort. Not to mention his technique and lyrics are clearly a cut above the average rapper. He may be from Cleveland, but this is one you can't sleep on. Check it out below.

Lil Jon - Turn Down For What (Remix) (Feat. Juicy J, 2 Chainz & French Montana)

What's probably every party's favorite ignorant rage song gets a rework by none other than the most ignorant rappers in the game. Absolutely anything with Lil Jon, Juicy J, 2 Chainz, and French Montana is guaranteed to be played while blacking out and guaranteed to annoy me after I hear it for the 10th time of the night. Regardless, I'll drink to it.

Tech N9ne - Fragile (Feat. Kendrick Lamar, !Mayday!, & Kendall Morgan)

As probably all of you know, the Prev and I are huge Tech N9ne fans and have been for quite some time. Today marks a pretty historic day in the world of Tech N9ne. Tech N9ne has always been known as the king of underground but never really broke in to what a lot of people thought he could do to the hip-hop game, most of this has to do with the fact that he decided to remain independent and form his own smaller music label because he didn't like the limitations that come with a major label. All that being said, Tech has received his first airplay on national radio stations with this single, Fragile. The accompanying video humbled me quite a bit after seeing it. Download below, if you like it, support good music and go cop his album, you won't be disappointed.

ZHU - Faded (Remix) ft. Sean Dee

If Guru is coming at you from the wasted angle of the party, I'm coming straight out the gate from the faded angle. And that's this song, for sure. It's perfectly named. Wasted is for the middle of the party. This track is for the end, when the party turns to haze in your mind. This song is experiencing the moments that you wonder whether or not were real when you wake up. Sean Dee delivers some solid verses, and ZHU, as always, delivers a fire track. Listen and DL below.

Steve Aoki - Rage The Night Away (Feat. Waka Flocka Flame)

When I first heard that Waka Flocka was entering the EDM scene, I was skeptical. Wasn't sure how his hip-hop ignorance was going to mash up with the EDM sound. "Wild Out" quickly silenced me. His intensity in that song made it. This song is a bit different, Waka still brought some intensity but not quite like he did in "Wild Out". Still enjoy the track though, can't wait to see what else this dude has in store.

Juicy J - Scholarship (feat. A$AP Rocky)

Started from the bottom, we still here! Nevertheless, I'll still bring my faithful readers music, as long as one person requests it.

It's our 200th post though, and in celebration of sticking to it, among other things, I'm posting this song. For those of you who don't know, Juicy J actually offered the girls of America the opportunity to win a $50,000 scholarship (aka a check for fifty grand) based on their twerking skills. Yep. Leave it to the King of Ratchet Pussy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure a 30 something year old mother of three won the money.

All that shit aside, this is actually a pretty good song. Not usually the biggest fan of Juicy J, always a huge fan of Lord Flacko himself, and absolutely the biggest fan of that one song which can take the party to a 10. This is that song. From personal experience, this is that song. Allegedly, a house party at one Miami University of Ohio had a mosh pit burst into existence when a DJ in a suspicious green Masters jacket cranked "Scholarship" at 5:30 AM on Green Beer Day. Allegedly. It may or may not have been a defining moment in the life of the Prevolutionary. Get over it. This one is legit. Track and DL link below.

Wiz Khalifa - Fly Solo (Prod. by E. Dan)

Well, well, well. Guru finally decided to show his sorry self on the site by posting a springtime melody. Now, as many of you know, I'm not the biggest fan of country. So if we're gonna post some spring tunes, I have to have my say too. This being said, we have Fly Solo by Wiz Khalifa. The melody is absolutely reminiscent of spring and the great outdoors. Wiz also tries his hand at singing... not too shabby. Anyway, this is a solid throwback, and one of my favorite Wiz joints... get it? Listen and DL below.

Lazy Rich, DANK, Victor Niglio, & Martin Garrix feat. Beyonce & Jay-Z - Drunk Animals (Kap Slap Bootleg)

You could say many things about this track. You could say I'm a fan. You could say I'm a fan. And you could say I'm a fan. But regardless of what you could say, I'm gonna be a fan of it at the end of the day. Not a fan of the original Drunk In Love, but damn it if this isn't a good mashup. Plus, at the end of any party where you may feel like banging this track, aren't you all going to be drunk animals anyway? Download it below.
