THROWBACK THURSDAY: D.veloped - Start With Straight Shots, Then Smash Pumpkins

Wow. Lets talk about two hardcore throwbacks here. Although this track isn't strictly a throwback, being released a little less than three years ago, both sample tracks in the mashup are pretty solid throwbacks themselves. And it's Thursday. So shut up. I'm posting again, enjoy.

The two sample tracks here are Weezy and Birdman's classic "Pop Bottles" and "Today" by Smashing Pumpkins. I don't know how D.veloped does it man, I really don't. These songs are like polar opposites. A hip-hop track from Wayne's heyday, featuring the ever ignorant rhymes of Birdman, and an almost hippie rock styled alternative track from a band way past their prime. But it's solid gold. Happy St. Paddy's Day everyone! I'm sure Guru is off somewhere up North, drunk and happy, so I'll be bringing you the AM song today. If ever you were to wake up on a Monday and need some inspiration to make it to class, drunk or not, here it is. D.veloped is back on the site for another slot, because this song is sheer brilliance. Who else would take a classic Cudi track and run it over old western movie theme music... and have it work? Need I say more? Track and DL link below.

Probably one of my favorite mashups right here. There's something with that punk rock guitar rhythm mixed with Rich Boy's chopped flow that makes these songs blend like they were made to be together. "Ridin' wit no tints so them muthafuckas know it's me."

D.VELOPED - Gas Pedal Play

Holy hell. I was about to be done posting today, and was just absentmindedly skimming my source sites, when I stumbled upon this beauty of a mashup. This is actually more the old 2005 ish style remix that I miss oh so much. I'm pretty sure D.VELOPED isn't even a real artist, more of a SoundCloud devotee with a knack for his hobby, but I'll be damned if this isn't a good mix. It just fits.
