Avicii - The Nights

We're back and so is Avicii. After so pictures leaked of him looking, well, like he was basically on his deathbed, Avicii releases his first single off of his sophomore album Stories. Avicii continues to show the world that EDM can be more than just synths with a 120 bpm baseline and shows us all that he is trying to change the face of the EDM culture. Two songs, one a classic, one an instant classic, meshed so perfectly into a tune that makes me just want to tip a cold one back on a beach somewhere. Coldplay - A Sky Full Of Stars (Feat. Avicii)

So let me just lead off this post with this: FUCK COLDPLAY but damn, Avicii can turn anything in to an awesome song. I mean, does this guy make a bad song? We got a few just "so-so" tracks on True, but nothing that I would call legitimately poor. Anyway, here's a single off of Coldplay's new album with Avicii on the production.

So this one has been making the rounds on all the huge music blogs for about the last week. I've been a busy man, or I would have gotten it to you sooner. I'm a huge fan. Kap Slap is one of the few DJs who consistently puts out the dopest of mashups and bootlegs. He combines four songs here in such a seamless way it could almost be it's own single. I love it. Avicii - Levels Reversed

If Avicii's Levels isn't in the top three electro-dance music songs ever produced, at least in terms of popularity, I don't want to live on this planet anymore. Everyone from America to Australia knows Levels. Everyone. The song is a universal staple to the EDM genre. Just like Blue or The Final Countdown. It's just common knowledge. And here we have the melody reversed. That's right people. Reversed. I'll be the first to tell you that this song isn't new. Hell, I think the troops back in 'Nam were blasting this little ditty, but to be honest, I really don't care. This song is fantastic. Way better than the original in my opinion. But hey. You guys know me, I'm a huge fan of mash up bootlegs. This one is in my top three. When Skrillex remixed Levels, I was in love. And when Dante threw the vocals from John on top of that track, I fell in lust. This song is a must have. Track and DL link below.

Dada Life, Hardwell ft Taio Cruz - Avicii's Epic Hangover (Kap Slap Bootleg)

Damn... if anyone knows how to do a mash up right, it's Kap Slap. I can't emphasize that enough. This song somehow escaped my notice until late this summer, when a buddy had his iPod on shuffle during a chill night at the University of Dayton. Shit caught my attention immediately... this is one guaranteed to send some adrenaline through your veins. Song and DL link below.
