Daft Punk, Phil Collins, Skrillex, Feed Me - Daft Collins (Vice & Sgt Slick Re-Edit)

Guys, I'm sad to admit it, but the end of an era is coming soon. Prevolutionary is at the end of its functional life. We don't have time to run it, it isn't a big enough priority in our lives (yes, we have lives) to keep it up. This being said, we are looking to develop a new site. One that takes this beta website into full production mode. I'll keep you posted.

This song is again, another kick ass mashup. The fact that someone mashed these types of artists together is fantastic, personally my favorite piece is during the interludes when you can hear Bangarang softly in the background. It just gives the song a better feel. I don't know. I'm kinda a bit put out/hungover to write a good review. Listen to it and download it below.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: Drake ft. Lil Wayne & Jay-Z - Light Up (Rikers Remix)

Talk about a hell of a throwback. This song makes me nostalgic in a way. It takes me back to the days when Guru and I were just discovering our potential to sniff out the hottest new tracks, back to the days when Young Money was relevant and Drake was just blowing up for real, back to the days when LIL WAYNE WASN"T TUNECHI AKA WAS THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE... but I digress. Those were the days, but now they're over. This song marks the end of an era. Drake is now his own entity, Tunechi is putting out consistent trash with a few brief flashes of his immortal talent, and Guru and I are (semi) functioning adults. In terms of the actual track, I would like to say a few words. Drake is on point as usual, Jay-Z spits some real ish, and Wayne delivers one of his hottest verses over the phone from Rikers Island. This is, as far as I'm aware, a unique moment in music history. And it's straight fire. Check out this historical piece, and DL it below.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: Tiesto & DJ Punish - Shocker (Original Mix)

This is a classic example of a progressive house song. I believe Guru showcased this one about a year ago, but I feel like it deserves to be brushed off and brought back to your senses for eargasmic listening pleasure. Like all great progressive house songs, there is a steady build in perceived tempo, booming bass, fantastic synths, and a massive drop. I mean, at this point it's essentially a formula, but textbook precision isn't always possible. Here it is though. Fantastic song. Check it out and DL below.

Rihanna - Stay (Branchez Bootleg)

Believe it or not, I found this through Vine. I saw a slow mo 6 seconds of some guy dunking hard as hell on some poor, unfortunate soul. And here we are. Even without the image of that kid getting wrecked, this song is still bad ass. I will unabashedly say that it is better than the original, because it is. Rihanna's voice turned into a higher falsetto put over a slow piano melody is just straight fire. Download this now. Do it below. Enjoy

Will Sparks X Calvin Harris ft. Kelis - Melbournia Bounce (Craaze Mashup)

Agh, sorry guys, busy weekend for fall break, got caught up doin' a whole lot of nothin and forgot to post. My bad. It won't happen again *crosses fingers behind back*.

This is one for the gym. It is not, in my semiprofessional opinion, a club banger, although it is, in my semiprofessional opinion, a very good mix. It's upbeat, it has a bit of... the wild in it. Even though I've never been to Europe, it feels like something Europeans couldn't get enough of. I play this all the time when I'm walking to class, going for a run, or otherwise being active. I like it. Listen and DL below.

Footnote: Gonna post a few today hopefully to make up for my time off.

Frank Carmine - Shine (Dada Life, Sander Van Doorn, Capital Kings, Kyler England, Owl City, Denzal Park, Matt Nash)

Ah, this should be new for all of you. I couldn't even find a usable picture for the post, so shout out to the stock picture featured above. This has been one of my favorite songs in the last month or so. There probably hasn't been a day go by out of the last 30 that I haven't listened to this at some point. One of the smoothest mixes I've ever heard, the track choices, while not necessarily well known, are perfect for this and the transitions are so good they don't even seem to exist. This is feel good music. This is feel great music. DL and listen below.

The Melker Project - Get Out The Way & 1 Year Anniversary of Prevolutionary

HELL YEAH FUCKIN RIGHT! What started out as a pet project is still a pet project, but it's a year later! Today is the one year anniversary of Prevolutionary. I'm pleased that I still put some semblance of effort into this site, even if the Guru doesn't spend much time here. Oh well, we can address that later.

Here we have another one of Scott Melker's fantastic mashups. Crazily enough, he incorporates classic rap, some metal, and some house tunes into this one, and it sounds simply FLAWLESS. This one is good for any workout mix. Check it out and DL below.
